Photoshoot 1-17-09

I had the pleasure of working with photographer Laura Ann and model Rachel Jay over the weekend. Here are some of the shots!

For more of my recent shots, you can check out my makeup page on facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Makeup-by-Christin-C/

To achieve the lip, I started Rachel off with Dior's lip plumper. I had Rachel put this on at the beginning of our application so it had some time to work. It does have a slight tingle to it, but it's not as intense as others I have tried.

From there, I lined her lip with MAC's
 Cremestick Liner, Velvetella.

I used two different shades of lipstick for these shots. Some shots had more of one, and some had more of the other.  Hang up is the lighter of the two pictured on the left.  The finish is creamsheen so it will have a lot of color pay off, and feels amazing on.  Really creamy.

The other was a limited edition shade from MAC's Style Black launch called Night Violet.  It's a mattene lipstick, so it has a matte texture, but it goes on smoother and feels better than some other matte lipsticks do.  It will also have a lot of color payoff, and will stay longer than other finishes do.

Photoshoot with Rachel Jay

I did the hair and makeup for this shoot. The model, Rachel had gotten married a few months prior to this shoot, so she was happy she got to get some more use out of her dress. We were going for Vogue bride.

Instant nail polish remover

So as someone who has been a licensed nail tech for 7 years, I can definitely say I was exposed to all sorts of professional products. One of my favorites that stuck with me throughout my career wasn't even a professional product. It was an instant polish remover called Pretty Nails. They were readily available at most drugstores. They have other brands and generics, but Pretty Nails was just so much better. You dip your finger inside the sponge filled pot at rub your polish right off! It has conditioners in it, so it doesn't dry your fingers out! It also had a feature that most of the others do not. It had a metal wand with a little poof ball on the end which made removing polish from your toenails so easy. I am bummed to say I have not been able to find it off the internet in a real store for years. I think these need to come back to stores!! I do highly suggest you all check these out! They come in a tiny travel size too, and were generally around $5 bucks.
